If your child turns four before May 1, they can start kindergarten on the first day of Term One in that year. If your child turns four on or after May 1, they can start preschool on the first day of Term One the following year.
Children may attend kindy for 5 terms before they start school.
This includes pre-entry kindy, where children attend for one session a week for one term, to familiarise themselves with the environment.
After pre-entry, children can attend 4 sessions each week, taken as 2 full days, over 4 terms.
Families who live more than 10km from the centre have the option to enrol their child in a further 2 terms.
Gladstone Kindergarten offers the following kindy sessions:
